August – the month of the Mighty AVON DESCENT
This annual event down the Avon River has been taken on by over 30,000 over the last 50-odd years. The two-day race commences in front of a crowd in Northam, heads downstream, passing through Toodyay and finishing in Bayswater.

Event registrations and Northam Bilya Festival celebrations
Saturday 9 August
Day one of the big race – competitors start from Northam Weir and make their way down to Cobbler Pool for the end of the first day and some much-needed rest.
Sunday 10 August
Day two of the big race – starting location is to be advised, dependent on water levels. Stay tunes for updates closer to the event.
