August – The month of the Mighty AVON DESCENT
This year the event celebrates its 50th year and Mini Jet WA are proud to have become a completely new and standalone power category for 2023.
Event entries are open and if you are thinking of getting along or would like to be involved as a volunteer please get in touch with the club, we are always looking for like-minded helpers!
Avon Descent weekend schedule
Friday 11 August
Event registrations take place at the Dome Café Northam from lunchtime. This is also a special, first-time opportunity for the general public to take a ride in a Mini Jet.
Mini Jet WA will be holding an event in the start pool where we open up the craft to the public and invite you to take a seat and do some hot laps in the start pool area. Keep an eye out for the Mini Jet WA marquis on the banks and come over to secure your ride!
Saturday 12 August
Day one of the big race – competitors start from Northam Weir and make their way down to Cobbler Pool for the end of the first day and some much-needed rest.
This year there is a fantastic event happening within the campgrounds, this will be live music, great food and plenty of campfire stories.
Sunday 13 August
Day two of the big race – Mini Jet WA crew start off from Cobbler Pool and embark on the mighty valley sections. Not only are we blessed to be in some of the most amazing country but we get to do it in a Mini Jet!
